The race for the world cup golden boot has truly begun after an emphatic Marcus Rashford double against Wales placed him amongst the top scorers in the competition.
Rashford’s tally now amounts to three goals in as many games, giving him and England huge confidence going into the knockout stages. The Manchester United striker is now on level terms with Netherlands winger Cody Gakpo, Ecuadorian Striker Enner Valencia and French superstar Kylian Mbappe.
Argentina’s Lionel Messi, Brazil’s Richarlison and Spanish attacking duo Ferran Torres and Alvaro Morata are all on 2 goals and do not look intent on giving up the golden boot chase anytime soon.
France take on Tunisia later this evening with Mbappe set to start. Will the French phenomenon add to his already impressive record and lead the race from the front? Or has Marcus Rashford set the tone going into the knockout stages?
