Free State Stars midfielder Sinethemba Jantjie has passed away at the age of 30 after he was involved in a fatal car accident in Bethlehem on Monday morning.
The 30-year-old’s car collided with a truck in Free State during the early hours of Monday morning. The Ea Lla Koto midfielder along with four other people was pronounced dead on the scene.
Ea Lla Koto confirmed the news of his passing in an official stamens released on Monday, which reads:
‘It is with great sorrow that the club reports on the passing away of one of our player Mr. Sinethemba Jantjie.’
‘Mr. Jantjie passed away in the early hours of the morning when his car was involved in an accident. We will inform you of the funeral and memorial arrangements after meeting with the family’

Over the course of his career, Jantjie has scored eight goals and assisted a further seven from 76 appearances across all competitions playing for the likes of Mbombela United and Free State Stars.
Free State Stars also confirmed that they will release details of his memorial and funeral after consulting the family.
