Netherlands attacker Memphis Depay has downplayed the significance of a minor argument with Arjen Robben.
Memphis Depay has stressed he does not have any problems with Arjen Robben after the pair were involved in a heated argument during and after the Netherlands’ 5-0 friendly win over Ivory Coast at the weekend.
The Lyon star reacted angrily after being overlooked by Robben during a counterattack, with the Bayern Munich man in turn not happy with his teammate’s response.
Robben reportedly confronted Depay regarding his behaviour in front of the rest of the squad after the final whistle, but the former Manchester United attacker has downplayed the significance of the incident.
“It was just a bit of miscommunication on the pitch,” the 23-year-old told De Telegraaf.
“We talked about what happened and it is all in the past now.”
Depay is slowly returning to form after a difficult spell with United, but he feels he is not there just yet.
“I am not entirely satisfied about the last two friendlies with Oranje,” he added.
“There are still a few things to improve.
“But it is a good thing that I am involved in goals and dangerous situations again,” he concluded.
