France set to field experienced players against Croatia

Croatia host France in the first leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals tonight with the second leg being played on Sunday.

Luka Modric led Croatia have a terrible home form against France with only one victory against Les Blues in their past 10 home games.

For many this may be a rematch of the 2018 FIFA World Cup final, and coach Didier Deschamps will be looking to get his guard up by fielding his experienced players if they are to gain an advantage in this encounter.

Arsenal’s WIlliam Saliba and Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate are both expected to start tonight given their solid performances for their respective clubs.

Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni and Olympique Marseille’s Adrien Rabiot are also expected to boss the midfield against Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic.

Skipper and Modric teammate Kylian Mbappe is set to lead Les Blues’ attack tonight with the armband on alongside PSG winger Ousmane Dembele and Randal Kolo Muani.

The odds are in France’s favour with Les Blues winning four out their last five International games (1 draw) while Croatia picked up two wins, two draws and a loss in their previous five.
