After lengthy discussions and many media distractions, Al Ahly and Pitso Mosimane have finally put their contract drama to bed as the coach and his staff signed on for two more years with the Egyptians.
The former Bafana Bafana coach has enjoyed an outrageously successful spell as Al Ahly mentor after joining them in September 2020.
Mosimane has won back-to back Caf Champions League titles, the Egyptian League title, two bronze medals at the Fifa World Cup and more coaching the Egytian giants. There were doubts, though, over his stay beyond the current deal, with both Mosimane and club officials speaking to the media about issues during the renewal process.
However, the club finally put all the talk to bed as they announced the coach and his staff had signed a new deal on Tuesday in a statement:
“Al Ahly SC announce the extension of Pitso Mosimane’s contract for two more years after what he achieved with the club.
“Mosimane and his assistants signed the new contract with the club to put an end to all the rumours that were circulating during the previous period.”
