Kaizer Chiefs have released an official statement regarding attacking midfielder Dumisani Zuma, who was alleged arrest for driving under the influence.
Zuma was reportedly arrested in the early hours of the morning in Sandton last Wednesday morning when he as nabbed by police during a roadblock for for drink and driving.
The 26-year-old was arrested by police and released on bail after he was caught allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and Chiefs have subsequently suspended the midfielder following an internal investigation.
The Soweto giants have since released the following statement confirming Zuma’s suspension as he faces a disciplinary hear:
Kaizer Chiefs is disappointed to learn of the recent alleged conduct of Dumisani Zuma as reported in the media and has taken the decision to immediately suspend him from all Club activities pending an internal disciplinary hearing.
His suspension is in the interests of all parties concerned and does not in itself carry any inference of guilt or prejudgement.
The Club will ensure the matter is resolved as quickly as reasonably possible.
