Mamelodi Sundowns star Percy Tau is reportedly a transfer target of English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion FC.
The news first emerged in England as newspaper The Argus confirmed Albion’s interest: ‘The Argus can confirm the Seagulls [Albion] are tracking Mamelodi Sundowns forward Percy Tau‚ who was recently named top man in his domestic competition.’
The report comes just days after Downs coach Pitso Mosimane confirmed that Tau has piqued the interest of English clubs.

Mosimane, however, hinted that a sizeable offer would need to be made by any club who are interested in the Bafana Bafana striker, saying that English clubs should not think that ‘we are in Burundi’.
‘Those teams must take us seriously if they need Percy. We are sitting with requests for Percy and we will have to find a way to replace him if he goes‚’ added Mosimane.

Brighton successfully staved off relegation in their first season back in the Premier League, eventually finishing a credible 15th. The Seagulls will undoubtedly be looking to bolster their squad in an attempt to remain a top-flight club.

Tau would face a challenge if a move did materialise, but after winning the Footballer of the Season‚ Player’s Player of the Season and joint Top Scorer awards at the PSL Awards last month, the young forward will relish the opportunity of playing abroad.
