Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic says that he is praying that in-form winger Thembinkosi Lorch will not miss the rest of the season after he suffered an injury against AmaZulu on Sunday.
The Bafana Bafana midfielder dislocated his shoulder in a collision with AmaZulu captain Mbongeni Gumede. Although it looked like an innocuous challenge at the time, Lorch came off second best and had to be substituted for the remainder of Pirates’s 2-1 victory.
Lorch has scored four goals in twenty-four appearances this season and looked to be in serious discomfort on the Buc’s bench after being substituted.
Speaking about the injury after the game, the Serbian coach said, ‘Despite getting an injection he [Lorch] couldn’t continue and I just pray hard because he has had a wonderful season.’
‘He was with Bafana Bafana recently and I strongly hope that this injury is not putting him out for the rest of season, because it is a dislocation or something like that on his shoulder, and I hope that he’ll come back.’
The injury will worry the former Chippa United winger who also missed a large chunk of last season with a shoulder injury.
