Ajax Cape Town’s CEO, Ari Efstathiou has confirmed that the club will be interdicting the start of the 2018/19 Premier Soccer League campaign.
The Urban Warriors called a press conference on Tuesday to respond to the PSL.
Ajax thought they were handed a victory after judge Denise Fischer’s ruling saw Ajax reinstated into 15th position on the Absa Premiership league standings.

The PSL have, however, subsequently revealed that they will be appealing the decision, and have reassured all interested parties that the league will start on 3 and 4 August despite the unresolved matters.
In Tuesday’s press conference, Efstathiou told the media in attendance that ‘Ajax Cape Town is trying everything in its power to find a swift solution to what is a very difficult situation.

‘We are forced to take the following procedures: Oppose application of leave to appeal, Ajax will launch an application to ask [for] judge Fischer’s decision to be immediately effective if the appeal is heard and finally Ajax will interdict the start of the league.
‘Ajax Cape Town will remain committed to it’s principles. We remain committed to the youth, the Ajax Lambda Institute will be officially opening this month,’ added Efstathiou.
‘In closing, we are there to help find solutions. We have gone to FIFA, the PSL’s Chairman, to the Exco, the BoG.
