Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas believes Benni McCarthy has the potential to become a good coach in the Absa Premiership, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.
The Glamour Boys recorded their first victory of the campaign when they beat the Citizens 4-1 at Cape Town Stadium over the weekend.
Amakhosi then went on to make it two-for-two when they cruised past Free State Stars on Tuesday by claiming a 2-0 victory on Solinas’ return to Goble Park, but this time as the opposing coach.
Solinas admits that it was difficult taking on City in the Mother City, despite claiming three points against them.
He went on to wish them well for their upcoming MTN8 final against SuperSport United on 29 September.
‘Cape Town City is a very good team, good players, Benni is a very good coach, young and [has a] good idea of coaching, so in the future Benni will become a good coach, it was a difficult game for us because Cape Town is a strong team, I am happy for City [because] they [are in] the final and I wish all the best for Cape Town City for the final game,’ Solinas told the media.
Cape Town City will next take on Orlando Pirates on Wednesday, while Kaizer Chiefs square off with AmaZulu on Saturday with kick off set for 7:30pm and 6pm respectively.
