Khama Billiat is hoping that Sibusiso Vilakazi, Percy Tau and Themba Zwane continue their excellent run of form when Mamelodi Sundowns face Kaizer Chiefs.
The Sundowns attacking trio ran riot in Bafana Bafana’s 3-1 win against Burkina Faso, as they each got on to the scoresheet, and Billiat admits that he isn’t surprised by the trio’s form.
“I am not surprised [that Tau, Vilakazi and Zwane are doing well],” he told reporters.
“They are good players and there’s something special in them. It’s an honour playing with them. I know that their top form is going to help the team and take the team to another level. It will make us better. We would like to be dangerous,” he added.
The Zimbabwean suggested that form guide will not matter when the two giants face off at the Loftus Versveld Stadium.
“It’s not going to be [about] how you played the last game when it comes to Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns. What you do on the day is very important.
“It’s very important for us [to win] to boost the confidence going forward because we are going to have a hectic schedule.
“We are playing a lot of games in a short period of time, so we need confidence. It’s going to be one of the best games because it’s always like that,” he added.
Billiat, who scored the only goal of the game in his sides 1-0 victory against Platinum Stars, spoke of the threat that Steve Komphela’s side poses.
“Chiefs are a good team. With all the respect we have to work very hard, we have to watch the videos and we have to watch how they have been doing, no matter how things are on their side.
“Also on our side things are not the way we want. We want to actually be where we used to be, and we need to get our confidence back and do better from all the games we have played so far.
“It’s going to be tough for both teams. You know there’s always going to be goals. The best team will win,” he concluded.
The two teams will face off on Tuesday, October 17, with kick-off set for 19:30.
