Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat has given his thoughts on the clubs new coach Ernst Middendorp following his first week at Amakhosi.
The 60-year-old coach was brought back to the club for a second spell following the departure of Giovanni Solinas.
The Zimbabwean International has already managed to score six goals and assists a further six from 20 appearances in all competitions since joining the club from Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the new season.
Billiat admits they are still working on improving their attacking and defensive tactics, but insists they need to stick to the coaches ideas.
‘When there’s a new coach there’s new energy, different training sessions and everything is different,’ Billiat said after the Nedbank Cup draw in Johannesburg.
‘It’s always like that, but now we really need to stick to his ideas and try to make sure the energy is always there every time we play and enjoy most importantly.
‘We are still working on a lot of things, attacking and defensively. We are still trying to work on combinations and the way he wants us to play and it looks good. Hopefully we will adjust and do it during the games.’
