Kaizer Chiefs forward Siphelele Ntshangase says he is looking forward to donning the Gold and Black jersey in his first Soweto Derby.
The Soweto giants are confident ahead of the Soweto derby as they currently on a 10-match unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership, having claimed six wins and four draws.
Ntshangase says he is relishing the chance to play in his first derby game after joining Amakhosi from Baroka during the January transfer window.
“I can’t wait to be part of the Soweto Derby,” Ntshangase told the club’s official website.
The 24-year-old admits that it wasn’t easy adopting to life at his new club as he continues to improve his consistency.
“I am used to the way Chiefs play, that’s not the problem. But I have been struggling a bit with consistency. That’s mainly because Chiefs are such a big club which comes with huge responsibilities,” he added.
The Glamour Boys have dominated the derby since 1970, having won 67 derbies out of the 162 played, while Pirates have only won 38, while 52 games ended in a draw.
“I will make the most of the chance if given,” Ntshangase concluded. “I will go beyond just doing my job.”
The match at the FNB Stadium kicks off at 15:30 on Saturday.
