Baroka winger Talent Chawapiwa says he wants to following in the footsteps of Zimbabwean great Peter Ndlovu and play at the highest level of football.
The 25-year-old winger has already managed to make 27 appearances in all competitions for Baroka this campaign while scoring one goal and assistrd five in the process.
On an international level, Chawapiwa has bagged three goals from 15 appearances for the Zimbabwean national team since making his debut back in 2015.
Chawapiwa insists he would like to emulate his hero Ndlovu by playing at the highest level in Europe while also making a name for himself in the national team.
“My hero is Peter Ndlovu. He is a legend. He was the first black African to play in the English Premiership and he has done great things for the country,” Chawapiwa told KickOff.com.
“He made the country go to the Africa Cup of Nations and he has never disappointed. He played at the highest level and he is the all-time top scorer for the national team.
“He is someone we grew up supporting in Zimbabwe. He is the greatest captain ever. I met him when we played against Sundowns. We shook hands and he said he is happy with the progress I am making.
“But I wish to get more advice from him as I progress in my career because I want to go overseas one day, even it means playing one season. I’d just like to get the experience there.”
