The young defender will battle for a spot in the team with the likes of Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Godfrey Walusimbi and Lehlogonolo Mirwa as Ernst Middendorp has a number of youthful options to choose from.
Middendorp revealed to the club’s website that he believes the player is ready for the step up and that it won’t take him long to get a chance in the team
‘Happy has been around. At 21 years of age, he is matured, and I think this is the right time to have him join the first team,’ said the German.
‘Happy has an extremely educated left foot. He will give us options on the left. He knows the Kaizer Chiefs culture and has already been with the club for four years.
‘I admire him for his attitude. He is not the kind of player who gets over excited on the ball, he does his business and applies the basics. I think it won’t take long before he gets a nod to play.’
Chiefs are next in action when they travel to Mdantsane for their Nedbank Cup opener against ABC Motsepe League side Tornado FC this Sunday and considering the number of games played recently Mashiane might get his first taste of first team football.
