The potential title decider between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns has been brought forward to Monday April 01 by the PSL due to Downs’ Caf Champions League commitments.
Pirates were initially set to host Masadawana at the Orlando Stadium on the 27th of April, but the Premier Soccer league decided to bring the game forward in order to accommodate Sundowns in the CAF Champions League, with both the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the competition scheduled to be played in April.
Pitso Mosimane’s side currently top the Absa Premiership table, while the Sea Robbers sit just three points adrift as the title race enters the business end.
Pirates though were eliminated from the group stages of the Caf CL and will thus be able to solely focus on the league with another vital game against Bidvest Wits set to be played in the same week (April 06) as the Downs clash.
Pirates are currently third in the table, one point off Wits who are in second, thus the coming week will have a significant impact on where the Absa Premiership title ends up.
