Bidvest Wits have suffered another injury blow, with coach Gavin Hunt revealing that winger Elias Pelembe sustained a broken arm in the league defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Clever Boys suffered their sixth loss of the season on Tuesday night, as many as during their entire championship-winning season in the 2016/17 campaign, and their injury concerns were deepened with Pelembe reportedly suffering a broken arm.
”His arm is broken I think, so we have another one out,” Hunt said in post-match comments.
”We’re down to whatever we’re down to, but it doesn’t matter, you still make the same error, the same player, I mean it’s crazy.”
Hunt highlighted his side’s poor finishing, which he felt led to their downfall.
”You got to score when you have the chances, [Amr] Gamal had two chances in the first half.
”I think he had another three chances in the second half. Sundowns played the long ball the whole night, the one where [Percy] Tau was through from a corner, I mean you can’t be making errors like that, but that’s football for you,” he concluded.
