Mamelodi Sundowns forward Pavol Safranko admits he is learning every day but is always looking for new ways to help the team succeed.
The 27-year-old joined Sundowns from Romanian outfit Sepsi OSK on 1 July 2021, where he scored 17 goals and assisted a further 10 from 71 appearances in all competitions.
Safranko has since spent three months with the Brazilians and has featured 11 times for the Tshwane side, scoring three goals.
Within the short time, he has been at the club, the Slovak striker has already won his first piece of silverware in the MTN8 trophy when Sundowns beat Cape Town City in the final on 30 October this year.
Speaking to his club’s official website, Safranko opened up about his favourite meal during the three months has been in South Africa.
“One of the things I enjoy about South Africa is oxtail and pap,” Safranko told his club’s official website.
The Slovak striker also touched on how he has been settling in and integrating into the Brazilians squad.
“It’s interesting and very different to be honest, but I am trying to learn every day how I can help the team. Sundowns is an amazing club with amazing people,” he added.
Safranko concluded by saying that goalkeeping duo Denis Onyango and Reyaad Pieterse as the funniest teammates, while also revealing that Divine Lunga, George Maluleka, Brian Onyango, Kermit Erasmus and Ricardo Nascimento are his closest teammates.
“The funniest I would say is a tight battle between Denis Onyango and Reyaad Pieterse, those two guys are really funny.”
“I can’t particularly point to only one person that I am close within the team, there is Divine Lunga, George Maluleka, Brian Onyango, Kermit Erasmus and Ricardo Nascimento – if I can just mention a few. There’s so many good people in this team I can’t choose,” he concluded.
