Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana believes Bongani Zungu can accomplish greatness in Europe – as he continues to grow as a player.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a successful debut season with Portuguse outfit Victoria Guimaraes after helping his side reach the Portuguese Cup final and qualifying for the 2017-18 Europa League.
Zungu managed to rack up a total of 25 appearances in all competitions while scoring two goals against FC PaCos de Ferreira and Benfica respectively.
Kekana strongly believes that the Gauteng-born midfielder will continue to grow while plying his trade in Europe.
“I am so happy for him. I don’t think anything will stop him in Europe. He has football brains and that’s what you need in this game. I see him playing in one of the top leagues in the world,” Kekana tells KickOff.com.
Despite, tipping Zungu for greatness, the Sundowns captain believes that he has to continue to work hard to improve his performance to play in one of the best leagues in the world.
“Bongani was here [at Sundowns] when he was 21 and the attitude was good, so I see him making it in Europe. As a player, you need to have room for improvement all the time,” he added.
“I am 32 today and I feel I still have a lot to learn. So he will always keep learning.”
