Mamelodi Sundowns forward Anthony Laffor believes Themba Zwane has been their ‘secret weapon’ this campaign after claiming the 2017-18 Absa Premiership title.
Zwane has been one of Sundowns standout performers this campaign and has already managed to score six goals and assists a further seven from 36 appearances in all competitions.
Laffor believes Zwane’s contributions for the club this campaign has been exceptional, despite Percy Tau’s stellar performance throughout the season.
“People talk more about Percy Tau. He’s a good player and I like his energy and everything‚ but the one thing people forget about is Themba Zwane‚” Laffor told TimesLive.
“I think this season he’s been our secret weapon. Everything that he plays he either creates or scores goals and I’m not saying that Percy didn’t do well for us.
“For me I think it would be Percy Tau and Themba Zwane. Those two guys have given it their all.
“If you look at ‘Vila’ (Sibusiso Vilakazi)‚ he did extremely well‚ especially given that when he came to Sundowns it took time for him to adapt and then when he did adapt he was just flying.
“So all of them have done extremely well. But I put my hands up for Themba Zwane and Percy Tau.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will next take on Bloemfontein Celtic in their final Absa Premiership encounter at the Dr Molemela Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 15:00.
