Manyama: I will be back to my best soon

Manyama: I will be back to my best soon
Published on February 26, 2022

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebogang Manyama is determined to get back to his best and put his injury woes behind him as they prepare to face Baroka FC in the DStv Premiership on Saturday.

The 31-year-old has only featured in nine games for Amakhosi this campaign and missed 12 matches due to his personal injury battles.

Manyama has since forced his way back into contention in the first-team squad and is now fully focused on the job at hand when they travel to the Peter Mokaba Stadium looking for the win and all three points.

“I missed a huge chunk of the season. I was struggling with my knee, but it’s good to be back and training with the boys.

“I am trying to get better and better every day. It is difficult to catch up with the other guys, because games keep on coming and coming and coming. I am getting there slowly but surely.

“My knee is stronger now and I will be back to my best soon,” a determined Manyama said ahead of this weekend’s away DStv Premiership encounter with Baroka FC.

“History is always there, good or bad. I don’t focus on it. We can’t really care about what happened before, all we should care about is what we do on Saturday and going forward. We need to make sure that we apply ourselves in the right way and play the way we have been training and get maximum points.

“Our preparations have been going well. We know what is at stake. We are looking for our first win of the year. It will give us confidence going into the next fixtures in the tougher months ahead,” concluded Manyama.
