Maritzburg United have confirmed that the club has rewarded head coach Eric Tinkler a new contract after saving them from relegation.
Tinkler has since put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Team of Choice after he helped save United from relegation via the PSL playoffs.
The Team of Choice won all their four matches in the playoffs against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and Royal Eagles.
Tinkler insists that he will not make many changes to his squad but will find it hard to replace the likes od Fortune Makaringe and Siphesihle Ndlovu, who both joined Orland Pirates.
‘On the field of play, let’s not look to make massive changes, because I think that’s just going to confuse everyone. I want to try and rebuild what was good, what they know, and bring a positive vibe to training and to the club,’ Tinkler said.
After rewarding Tinkler with a new deal, thr club chairman Farook Kadodia is confident that he is the right man to lead the team during the 2019-20 season.
‘There seems to be a real synergy between the coach and Maritzburg United, and we are confident that he is the right man to take us forward and get us back where we want to be, challenging for a position in the top eight as a minimum,’ Kadodia said.
