Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that left back Happy Mashiane will be sidelined for the rest of the 2018-19 season.
The left-back now joins the likes of Itumeleng Khune and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, who have both been ruled out for the rest of the season due to their respective injury.
Amakhosi’s physiotherapist David Milner confirmed that Mashiane will be sidelined for long than they hoped for as he continues to recover from his toe fracture.
‘Happy’s toe fracture is taking longer than expected to heal,’ Milner told his club’s official website.
‘The youngster requires a few more weeks to fully recover.’
The medical team also reports that the recovery progress of Lebogang Manyama and Mulomowandau Mathoho is going well.
Milner also confirmed that Lebogang Manyama and Mulomowandau Mathoho have began training as they look to get back to full match fitness.
‘They are both training,’ explained Miller. ‘The one thing left for the two is to get back to match fitness. We are monitoring their progression towards match fitness. It will take a bit of time, but we are happy with their progress.’
Meanwhile, Khama Billiat will continued to be assessed ahead of their clash against Black Leopards on Saturday.
‘Khama has started training again,’ confirmed Milner. ‘We will assess how he responds in training, before making a decision on his availability for selection on the weekend.’
