Orlando Pirates duo Bernard Morrison and Thabo Matlaba’s move to Chippa United has been called off following ‘negative reports in the media about the moves’ according to the Chilli Boys.
The Chilli Boys sent shockwaves around the country when they announced the acquisitions of Matlaba, Morrison and Thamsanqa Sangweni respectively.

Somewhere along the lines, the supposedly imminent move hit a snag with Morrison taking to social media to reveal that he had no knowledge of his move to the Port Elizabeth based outfit.
Chippa have since released a statement on social media confirming that both Matlaba and Morrison will not be joining the club as previously stated, while Sangweni has ended his one-year stay at Pirates as he made the permanent move to Port Elizabeth after only making three league appearances for the Soweto giants.

The Clubs had reached an agreement that Morrison and Matlaba were to join Chippa United on loan, hence the announcement was by the Club,

2.) Following the negative reports in the media regarding the move of Matlaba and Morrison, it was decided by all parties involved that the loan agreements be terminated.

3). “Everything was in place for Morrison’s move, and we gave him a relocation allowance of R24,000 at his request. But once he’d been granted his clearance, it seemed he had a change of heart, explained Executive Chairman, Chippa Mpengesi.

4.) Morrison has since been released from his contract at Orlando Pirates, with Matlaba opting to stay with the Sea Robbers and fight for his position in the team.

Chippa boss Chippa Mpengesi revealed his disappointment with Morrison’s reaction to the news of him joining Chippa, categorically stating that he wants the money which he paid for the Ghanaian back.
