Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy has been charged by the Premier Soccer League DC for comments directed at referee Phillip Tinyani.
The PSL released the following statement on the issues, which reads:
“PSL Disciplinary Committee update: The following matters will appear before the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee today 14 November 2017 and next week, Tuesday, 21 November 2017.
“Jonathan Schloss and Bidvest Wits: Mr Jonathan Schloss and Bidvest Wits have been charged with misconduct pursuant to the fixture between Bidvest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs which took place on 16 September 2017. He will appear this evening.
“Platinum Stars: The club has been charged with contravening the Compliance Manual for failing to submit their provisional squad list ahead of their fixture against Maritzburg United on 27 October 2017 at Harry Gwala Stadium. The matter will appear next week Tuesday.
“Benni McCarthy and Cape Town City: Mr Benni McCarthy and the Club have been charged with contravening the Rule 54.3.6 of the NSL Handbook following Mr McCarthy’s post-match comments directed at match official Mr Phillip Tinyani at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium after the club’s fixture against Chippa United on 22 October 2017. The matter will appear next week Tuesday.”
