Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp explained his decision to substitute Reeve Frosler against Black Leopards.
The Glamour Boys were forced to share the spoils against Leopards after playing out to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon.
Frosler impressed in a wing-back position during his debut for Amakhosi against the Limpopo outfit, but was replaced just before the hour mark by Middendorp and was subsequently replaced by Philani Zulu.
‘This is something like you’re having pre-season. Individual periodisation. Let’s take it from this side. A player [Reeve Frosler] who has not played for a long time. He trained with us but in this moment you must see,’ Middendorp told SuperSport TV after the game.
‘He can’t go 15 miles an hour. He was probably used to ten miles an hour, now he has come to a high level and you have watch him.
‘The same with Kabelo [Mahlasela], a good impact but you could see 60 minutes, 45 minutes then you have to make it clear that a change has to come. Otherwise an injury or a mistake or something will come. This is a little bit out of coaching.’
