Orlando Pirates midfielder Abbubaker Mobara believes there is still more he can do to improve his performances ahead of the 2017-18 Absa Premiership season.
The 23-year-old was named the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament following his stellar performance in the competition which saw him score two crucial goals in the quarterfinal and semi-final against Bloemfontein Celtic and Golden Arrows respectively.
Mobara fended off competition from teammate Mpho Makola and Supersport United midfielder Teboho Mokoena to claim the award at the PSL awards held at the Sandton Convention Centre on Monday.
The Pirates midfielder admits that he would like to improve certain areas of his game during the 2017-18 season.
“I am happy to receive this award as it is a testament to the hard work I have been putting in all year but I still believe there’s still more I can do and I plan to do so in the new season,” Mobara said at the PSL awards.
Despite, the Buccaneers disappointing season, Mobara was one of the few players to produce consistent performances throughout the season, having racked up 27 appearances while netting two goals in the process.
