Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene has put pen to paper on a new contract with the club.
The 33-year-old has only managed to featured once for Sundowns so far this campaign when he appeared in their MTN8 quarter-final defeat to Maritzburg United on 13 August.
However, the Brazilians current sit top of the Absa Premiership standings with 22 points following their narrow 1-0 victory over Golden Arrows in the previous league encounter.
Mosimane confirmed that Mweene has extended his deal with the club, but has not disclosed the length of his new contract.
“Kennedy has signed,” Mosimane announced after their narrow 1-0 win over Golden Arrows on Sunday.
The Zambian shot-stopper has already lifted two Absa Premiership titles, Telkom Knockout Cup, Nedbank Cup, the Caf Champions League and Caf Super Cup since joining Sundowns from Free State Stars back in July 2013.
Mamelodi Sundowns will be hoping to continue their winning ways when they welcome Maritzburg United to Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday, with kick-off scheduled for 19:30.
