Orlando Pirates co-coach Mandla Ncikazi says they will bring their best game to defeat log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns to walk away with maximum points at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Friday evening.
The Buccaneers come into this encounter on a five game unbeaten run following their 2-0 victory over TS Galaxy at the Orlando Stadium on last Saturday through goals from Bandile Shandu and Collins Makgaka.
Pirates currently sit third in the DStv Premiership standings with 24 points from 16 games, while the Brazilians have a 16 point lead over the Buccaneers at the top of the table with 40 points from 16 matches.
Ncikazi is confident that his side can defeat Sundowns and end the defending champions 16 game unbeaten run in the league this season.
Mandla Ncikazi, the Pirates co-coach, is confident that they can end Sundowns’ unbeaten run in the league, but he knows they will have to bring their A-game.
“Today was not the best day. But based on the opportunities we created I would say we have a better advantage,” Ncikazi told the media.
“Let’s take the point and try to be ready for Friday. Sundowns are doing really well but Pirates must rise. Sundowns are not invincible and immortal.
“It is possible to beat them but we will have to bring our best game to beat such a good side.”
Orlando Pirates against Mamelodi Sundowns is scheduled to kick off at 7:30pm.
