Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo says the team are determined to keep the same tempo and attitude they showed at the end of 2021.
The Glamour Boys currently sit in fourth place in the DStv Premiership standings with 28 points from 16 matches, 16 points behind Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the table, with three games in hand.
Amakhosi’s form at the end of last year had the club concede only two defeats in eight games, while playing out to one draw and winning five matches between November and December.
However, Ngcobo is confident his side can pick up where they left off last year and close the gap on the reigning DStv Premiership champions.
“We closed the 2021 calendar on a high as a team,” he told the club’s media department earlier this week.
“We were working very hard, we were playing for one another and we were helping each other. I think we performed well as a team and we are looking forward to keeping the same tempo and attitude [in 2022].
“Going forward for the rest of the season, we want to do well as a team. We want to fight and make sure that we win more games. We want to keep going and make sure that we win more games so that we can get closer to No 1. We just have to work hard.”
