Paez handed No 9 Chiefs jersey

Kaizer Chiefs striker Gustavo Paez Kaizer Chiefs striker Gustavo Paez
Published on July 7, 2017

Kaizer Chiefs have revealed that Venezuelan striker Gustavo Paez will be donning the No 9 jersey for the 2017-18 Absa Premiership season.

The 27-year-old previously donned the No 28 jersey at Amakhosi after signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club during last season’s January transfer market.

The Venezuelan striker played his part in helping Amakhosi secure fourth finish in the Absa Premiership during the 2017-18 campaign, while netting five goals and assisted a further one in all competitions.

However, the former Estudiantes de Merida striker would now like to double his goal tally from the previous year after setting a target of at least ten goals during the 2017-18 season.

Meanwhile, the Soweto giants confirmed the departure of Camaldine Abraw and the signing of former Cape Town City winger Bhongolethu Jayiya.
