Kaizer Chiefs forward Gustavo Paez says teams always play at their best when they come up against the Glamour Boys, and he says the Absa Premiership tie against Platinum Stars on Wednesday night will be no different.
The Soweto giants will look to put an end to their dismal streak, which has seen them go winless in their last four league encounters, and Paez highlighted the need to return back to winning ways after their disappointing string of results.
“We are used to teams playing their best football against us,” he told his club’s website.
“(Platinum) Stars won’t be any different. It is going to be a tough match.
“We have recovered well from the Polokwane City loss. We are excited about the prospects of getting back to winning ways with this match,” he added.
The Venezuelan revealed that Amakhosi have their sights set on next season, after the disappointment of yet another trophyless season.
“We have a strong mindset here. Of course we are disappointed with the current form and we want to make it right.
“We have next season in mind, but first things first. We have to win these two games and close the season on a high. We are professionals and know that we are serving a very hopeful and faithful supporters base.”
“The coach told us to remain focused. He also reminded us to finish the chances that we create,” he concluded.
