Kaizer Chiefs forward Bernard Parker has urged his side to be more ruthless in front of goal, following their 1-0 victory against arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday.
Parker’s lone strike in the first stanza separated the two sides, and despite garnering victory Parker called for Amakhosi to be more relentless in front of goal.
“It was a boost for us on the field and I’m happy that we came out with a win,” he said in post-match comments.
“With my frontline, we created a lot of chances, we tried to break quick and we did, but as we get into the final third we can be a little bit more ruthless, just 10 percent more, we would come out with a lot of goals.
“But other than that, it’s a learning curve for us, we are looking good and we look solid.
“Well done to the guys that came in, Ryan [Moon] and [William] Twala, they did the job. This year we want to achieve our goals,” he concluded.
