Orlando Pirates were not aware of teenage sensation Lyle Foster undergoing trials with French outfit AS Monaco, according to the club’s administrative manager, Floyd Mbele.
Foster, who was named among the top 60 young talents in the world by UK-based publication The Guardian, reportedly underwent trials with the Ligue 1 giants. However, his club has denied any knowledge of this.
“I don’t know what you are talking about. Honestly, I’m not aware that he went to Monaco for an assessment,” Mbele told Goal.
“It’s the first time I’m hearing this. I’m not aware of any assessment the player went through abroad,” he concluded.
The Amajita player was promoted to the Bucs’ first team this season, and has featured four times in the Absa Premiership thus far this season.
