Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane extended his gratitude to the Masandawana fanbase after his side’s 1-0 victory over Platinum Stars in the Absa Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
Mosimane’s side bounced back from the disappointment of being kicked out of the Caf Champions League with a 1-0 win against Dikwena, courtesy of Khama Billiat’s lone strike. The former Bafana Bafana mentor took the time to express his gratitude to the Sundowns fans, following their win over Roger De Sa’s outfit.
“The yellow nation believes in us, they expect us to win,” he said in post-match comments.
“They’re not happy we lost [in the Caf Champions League] but it’s penalties, what we can do?
“We will go again next year hey. At the end of the day we were solid at the back,” he added.
Mosimane also explained the introduction of Cuthbert Malajila, Thabo Nthethe and Anele Ngcongca for Sibusiso Vilakazi, Tiyani Mabunda and Billiat respectively.
“In my substitutions I’m trying to make everyone happy, but I have to keep the core of the team.
“I also have to do my own politics because I have good players who are not happy when they don’t play,” he concluded.
Sundowns’ next assignment sees them face Kaizer Chiefs after the international break on 17 October at the Loftus Versveld Stadium.
