After moving four points clear at the summit of the Absa Premiership table, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes that the pressure is now firmly on Orlando Pirates.
Goals by Wayne Arendse and Percy Tau saw Masandawana come from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Baroka. The result sees Mosimane’s men move four points adrift of Pirates with a game in hand.
Pirates come up relegation-threatened Supersport United on Wednesday evening and the former Bafana Bafana believes that the pressure is on Milutin Sredojevic’s side.
“We have exchanged the load with Orlando Pirates and I’m happy Micho spoke about it, finally,” he told the media.
“He spoke and said that when they played Bloemfontein Celtic [a game Pirates won 2-1 last week] and I’ve been waiting for that statement, he said the guys were a little bit nervous because they had to win and they knew they could not draw, they had to win.
“They passed the monkey on us and we have passed it to them. It’s the way it is; the most experienced team will prevail.
“They say it’s our title; Musa Nyatama (Pirates midfielder) said it’s our title and Micho spoke so nice about me, I read the article (on Sunday).
“The monkey is on his back now; you can’t draw, we can draw,” Mosimane concluded.
