There could be a legal crisis building at the PSL after the organisations head of legal, Michael Murphy, reportedly resigned to join PSL prosecutor Nande Becker in leaving the organisation.
According to multiple reports in the country, Murphy has decided to follow Becker out of the door having handed in his resignation with immediate effect to leave the league in a precarious position with their legal department.
With the league still needing to handle several pending disciplinary cases against numerous high-profile clubs and individuals they now face a bit of a crisis as they rush to get new personnel in so that the disciplinary cases don’t rumble on and have devastating effects at the back end of the season as the Sekhuhune and Royal AM debacle did last year.
The league also faces a serious matter with Covid-19 concerncs after Chiefs’ request to postpone the league due to a Covid-19 crisis which is reportedly the source of a lot of issues at the Parktown offices of the league.
The news comes just over 24 hours after PSL prosecutor Nande Becker’s handed in his own resignation.
Becker had been with the league for approximately eight years with his abrupt departure also with immediate effect now pointing towards a possible greater issue within the PSL’s hierarchy.
