The Premier Soccer League have announced changes to the Absa Premiership fixture schedules for the clubs participating in Caf continental competitions.
It was confirmed that Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Golden Arrows, Cape Town City, Polokwane City and Ajax Cape Town will all be affected by the changes to the upcoming fixture schedule, which provides some relief for clubs still participating in the Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup.
PSL released the following statement on the fixture change: ‘As a consequence of the fixture schedule released by CAF this week, the Premier Soccer League has had to effect some changes in its fixtures for the remainder of the 2017-18 Absa Premiership season.
‘The changes will mainly affect the clubs participating in the Caf Confederations Cup.
‘In the interest of maintaining a stable fixture for the supporters, broadcast rights holders, sponsors and also to comply with SASREA regulations, the League has worked very hard to minimize changes in the fixture.
‘However, external factors, such as Caf fixtures have necessitated these changes.
‘The League is extremely proud of the achievement of its Member Clubs participating in Caf continental competitions.’
