Polokwane City striker Rodney Ramagalela has cooled talk of a potential move to Orlando Pirates by affirming his commitment to the Rise and Shine.
The man affectionately known as ‘Rama G’, scored 11 league goals in 2017/18 to share the Golden Boot with Mamelodi Sundowns’ Percy Tau. This fine form has seen the striker linked with several teams, including Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.
Despite the interest in his services, Ramagalela has moved to cool any talks of a move by revealing that he aims to honour his contract with City, which expires in June 2019.
This would undoubtedly move to calm any fear that the Polokwane City supporters may have harboured about losing their star man.
‘No [I am not going anywhere]. I am still contracted to Polokwane City,’ said Ramagalela.
‘I am still contracted to the club until June 2019. I am not going anywhere. I am happy at the club.’
The former Sundowns man also praised Tau for matching his goal tally in the Absa Premiership this past campaign.
‘I am happy. I think Percy also did well. Personally, I think both of us deserve the award. It was a good season for both of us. Percy was a champion.
‘With my team somewhere we dropped down but overall personally it was a good season. I will keep pushing hard next season.’
