Tokelo Rantie has reportedly been training with Mamelodi Sundowns as he looks to earn himself another shot at redemption.
The forward left Cape Town City under a cloud three months ago with the club citing personal issues as the reason behind their decision to terminate his contract.
The former Bournemouth striker hasn’t played since October 2017 as he career has stalled after a self-imposed footballing exile ensued after he walked out on Turkish club Genclerbirligi, which was followed by his unsuccessful spell in Cape Town.
According to a report by TimesLive, Rantie now may have another chance at resurrecting his career in the PSL.
Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is reportedly interested in attempting to pull Rantie back together but will have a battle on his hand, one which Benni McCarthy could not win.
Rantie’s fitness has been seriously affected by his off-field problems as he failed to make work the diet and fitness regiment that City placed him on.
If Mosimane can pull the forward back from the abyss, he will have a top class forward at his disposal.
