Sekhukhune United have confirmed the signing of six new players as they continue to bolster their squad for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
Sekhukhune unveiled their new signings to reinforce their squad for the campaign ahead, who are Denwin Farmer, Abednego Mosiatlhaga, Linda Mntambo, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Elias Mokwana and Tshepo Mokhabi.
Farmer joins the club from Baroka FC, Mosiatlhaga comes aboard Babina Noko from Cape Town Spurs FC, while duo Mntambo and Mabasa join the club after parting ways with Orlando Pirates.
Meanwhile, Mokwana and Mokhabi make up the final signings for Sekhukhune after they moved to the club from GladAfrica Championship outfit Platinum City Rovers and Baroka FC, respectively.
Sekhukhune have officially unveiled the latest additions to the team in an official statement:
“Farmer (25), from Gqeberha, joins the Club from Baroka FC. He is a versatile player that enjoys playing centre or left side of defence. He has previously played for SuperSport United and Maritzburg United, respectively. He was also part of the South Africa national U23 team at the 2015 Africa U23 Cup of Nations held in Senegal.
“Mosiatlhaga (27), joins Babina Noko from Cape Town Spurs FC. He finished as the top goalscorer in the 2019-20 GladAfrica Championship League season with 18 goals for Cape Town Spurs (then known as Ajax Cape Town).
“Mntambo (33), started his football career with Roses United. After a season with them, he joined Jomo Cosmos. Mntambo spent five seasons with Ezenkosi, later joining Chippa United and Orlando Pirates, respectively. He has one cap for the Senior national team.
“Mabasa (25), born in Botshabelo, Free State. Started his career with Bloemfontein Celtic. He made his first-team debut during the 2014 Telkom Knockout encounter with AmaZulu, before joining Orlando Pirates in 2019. Mabaso has represented South Africa at the senior level, winning his first cap during the 2018 African Nations qualifier against Zambia on 19 August 2017. He has also featured for the South
Africa U23 team.
“Mokwana (22), joins Babina Noko as a winger after enjoying a great season with Platinum City Rovers during their maiden appearance in the GladAfrica championship.
“Mokhabi (27), born in Thabong, Free State (left winger) joins the club from Baroka FC. Sekhukhune United Football Club welcomes Farmer, Mosiatlhaga, Mntambo, Mabasa, Mokwana and Mokhabi to the Babina Noko Family.”
The club have begun pre-season training ahead of the new season.
