Giovanni Solinas remains winless after Kaizer Chiefs suffered a 3-1 defeat to Wits, however he insists that there are lessons to be learnt from the loss.

Goals by new Wits signings Deon Hotto, Terrence Dzvukamanja and Gift Motupa saw Chiefs succumb to a miserable defeat against Gavin Hunt’s side.

The former Free State Stars mentor didn’t offer much in the way of excuses for his sides lacklustre performance, claiming that they lost their shape more than anything else.

‘We conceded three goals. We lost the shape. We have to learn from this game. It’s a lesson for us,’ he said in post-match comments.

‘We started well but we conceded the big space behind the defenders.

‘Wits exploited this space. This is the game. We need to improve in converting the chances and in defence. We created chances, but we didn’t convert them.

‘Wits were very clinical. They had three chances and three goals. We need more determination into the box. We need to improve in the tactical situations.

‘The team needs a lot of training sessions because they need to learn the movement, but we play every two or three days.

‘We don’t have time for training. So we focus on things in the next game because we need a win in the next game,’ he concluded.

Chiefs’ next assignment sees them do duty against Free State Stars in an MTN8 clash on Saturday 11 August at the FNB Stadium with kickoff set for 6:00pm.
