Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande says they are fully committed to implementing coach Ernst Middendorp’s tactics against Orlando Pirates on Saturday.
The Glamour Boys will be hoping to bounce back in the league following their 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City in their previous encounter at the FNB Stadium on 30 January.
Amakhosi currently occupy sixth place on the Absa Premiership standings with 27 points from 19 matches, while the Buccaneers are in third place with 32 points from 18 games.
‘The battle is on,’ Katsande said at a press conference ahead of Saturday’s Soweto derby.
‘We are all committed to do what we have to do. We just have to apply the tactics the coach wants us to implement for this game.’
Amakhosi have struggled in the Soweto derbies recently, but Katsande pointed out that the overall facts are in favour of the Glamour Boys.
‘We have won 67 of the 165 Derbies played since 1970, while Pirates only 41,’ he added.
Kaizer Chiefs are set to welcome Orlando Pirates to the FNB Stadium when the two sides square off in the Absa Premiership on Saturday with kick off set for 3:30pm.
