Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has stressed the importance of finding the right balance to play the ‘proper way’ of football.
The Brazilians claimed the spoils in the Tshwane derby after defeating SuperSport United 2-1 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday through goals from Lebohang Maboe and Lyle Lakay.
The win sees Sundowns move up to third in the Absa Premiership standings with 21 points after 11 games so far this campaign.
Mosimane insists that he is not completely satisfied with the brand of football Sundowns are producing at the moment and urges his side to find their balance on the field.
‘You know sometimes it is important to get a balance because you want the team to play the proper way of playing football,’ Mosimane told SuperSport TV after the game.
‘We don’t want them to kick the ball the whole time, but the problem is once you do that you can lose the ball and then they will score. You are going to pay the price.
‘It’s either you do that or you take it up to somebody to flick, I don’t want that. It’s not good for us, it’s not good for TV.
‘It’s bad football and we need to play football.
‘I knew SuperSport would finish stronger (because we had to travel back from our Champions League game and only arrived on Friday). I understand the frustration, but we will finish stronger in the end.’
