Mamelodi Sundowns sent their condolences to Percy Tau and his family after the loss of his brother Mogau Tshehla, who passed away in a car accident over the weekend.
The 26-year-old perished in a car accident in Kwaggafontein, Mpumalanga on Sunday evening, according to the club.
However, Rise and Shine are expected to release detailed information on the matter in a press conference to be held at Polokwane City Village on Tuesday.
“I can confirm that Mogau is the elder brother of Percy Tau and as a club we send our deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time,” Sundowns spokesperson Thulani Thuswa confirmed.
“We are not playing this week‚ so this will give Percy enough opportunity to be with his family.”
Tshehla featured for Rise and Shine in their last 32 of the Nedbank Cup defeat to National First Division side Ubuntu Cape Town, while making six Absa Premiership appearances this season.
Polokwane released the following statement: “It is with our deepest sorrows that we inform you of the death of our defender Mogau Tshehla in a car accident.”
“Our thoughts are with the family‚ teammates and friends.”
