Mamelodi Sundowns are at an advanced stage to land the services of Maritzburg United winger Deolin Mekoa, according to the Team of Choice’s chairman Farook Kadodia.
Masandawana are known to be long-time admirers of the 23-year-old old, and with the allegations of Sundowns tapping up Cape Town City star Aubrey Ngoma, the reigning Absa Premiership champions could be poised to land the U23 international midfielder as a long-term replacement for Keagan Dolly.
Kadodia remained optimistic about Sundowns’ chances of landing the player, highlighting that a swap deal could be on the cards.
‘We are still talking with Sundowns,’ Kadodia told Isolezwe.
‘We are agreeing on many things, but they should give us certain players for us to release Deolin,
‘Afterwards they can start negotiating personal terms with the player,’ he concluded.
Mekoa has formed an integral part of Maritzburg’s top-eight aspirations this season, having made 22 appearances in the campaign, notching up six assists and netting twice.
