Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso points out his preference of playing on the perfect pitch, stating his preference of playing at Loftus Verseld due to the greens conditions.
Cardoso’s Sundowns recently played Sekhukhune United in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals beating them 1-0 in the first leg of the tie.
The Brazilian coach compared pitch conditions in the Betway Premiership and cup competitions to Europe’s UEFA champions League and Europa League, arguing that abroad, the maintenance to attaining the perfect pitch conditions is practically a non-negotiable.
The Portuguese further alluded to the future of South African football being the importance of maintaining good conditions of the pitch regardless of who his opponents are, whether they play home or away, no matter the starting XI he fields on matchday.
