Mamelodi Sundowns fought valiantly to force a share of the spoils against Maritzburg United, but their efforts proved in vain in the title race as Bidvest Wits clinched the Absa Premiership trophy.

Goals by Brian Onyango and Evans Rusike looked to be enough to seal a historic victory for The Team of Choice, but a late brace by substitute Yannic Zakri ensured that Sundowns got an equal share of the spoils, with the Zakri’s second goal netted with virtually the last kick of the game.
