Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela says his side cannot afford to drop any point when they take on Orlando Pirates in a Soweto Derby at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
The Soweto giants are set to lock horns for the second installment of the derby after playing out to a goalless draw the last time the two sides met at the FNB Stadium.
Komphela believes Amakhosi are well prepared to take on the Buccaneers in the hopes of walking away with all three points to keep the pressure on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
“It’s not always that you have a must-win Derby like this one,” Komphela told his club’s official website, “we can’t afford a slip-up if you look at the log situation.”
“We are basically ready, but we still wanted to once more dot the i’s and cross the t’s,” Komphela commented with a big smile on his face. “It’s a big event and all the players want to play in this one.
“The lads know that this is a game by which history can be written. It’s an opportunity for players to rise and steal the show. This match requires a moment of brilliance and we’ve prepared all our guys to be that player.
“Bring it on,” he concluded Komphela. “We are ready to represent this badge honourably.”
The match at the FNB Stadium kicks off at 15:30.
