Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt was left frustrated after his side played out to a 0-0 draw with Ajax Cape Town in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.
The Clever Boys were forced to share the spoils with Stanley Menzo’s side after claiming their fourth statement in the PSL this campaign.
Hunt says he was happy to see Wits keep a clean sheet, but felt his side could’ve easily have won the game, if they converted their chances in the final third.
“It’s disappointing, again, but we’re just not scoring. At least we’ve kept a few clean sheets now but not scoring has affected us this whole season. We’ve got to keep going and keep believing,” Hunt said after his sides goalless draw with Ajax.
“I think last season we got away with basic errors because we scored goals. Last year we beat Ajax 5-0 and it could’ve been 5-0 again here. That’s the frustrating part about it.”
The defending champions current occupy the bottom of the league standings with 10 points after claiming just two wins from 12 games played.
“We’ve been worried from the first game! Everybody is worrying because it’s crazy, you know. I think we know the league and you worry every day,” he added.
“You can’t play with worry, you have to play without fear and try to score. Goal-line tap-ins, I can go through two, three, four, five players who’ve missed huge chances.”
Bidvest Wits will be hoping to return to winning ways when they face Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 15:30.
